Freya
Freya is a very interesting car the team has created. It is the first car in Solar Vehicle Project’s history to be a four seater car. Fraya also has never compete in the World Solar Challenge due to COVID-19. So it only competed in the American Solar Challenge twice throughout it’s run.
ASC2021
4 - 7 AUGUST
The American Solar Challenge is usually a five-day track race, but this year it was shorter. For this year’s route, it was a a four-day track race that ran 900 miles and we went through the Santa Fe trail starting from Independence, MO to Santa Fe, NM.
The University of Minnesota has made accomplishments for this race. We got first place in FSGP and won the “Spirit of the Event” award.
ASC2022
9 - 16 AUGUST
For the 2022 American Solar Challenge, the race is back a five-day track race. For this year’s route, we went through the Oregon trail starting from Independence, MO to Twin Falls, ID. The trail is similar to ASC2018.
The University of Minnesota has made accomplishments for this race. We got second place in FSGP, first place in ASC, and won the “Abe Poot Teamwork Award”.
