Prerace Day 1

While all the other teams were racing in the last minute qualifier, the U of M Solar Vehicle Project took our free day to drive the first 200+ miles of the race route. We started at the start line at the Bob Bullock State History Center and then headed out to the first stage stop at Weatherford, Texas.  The car drove great, and the team got some great practice driving as a team in a caravan.

The picture below is a team picture we took on the last day of Formula Sun after our first place victory.  The track was setting up for a military show, and we thought a gigantic tank would make a nice backdrop for our picture.

Hey, at least I made it in one of the pictures (top of the tank).

Nice victory shot from FSGP 05 ... beefy tank, gorgeous sky, good looking group and the color coordinated port-o-potties!

Seriously, despite large obstacles (passing a house--"Yikes," says a typical mom), rain and heavy traffic, CONGRATS for your successful prerace day.

You make it look like a grand time and it seems the group is hanging together as a team beautifully.

Lookin' very good, indeed. Thanks for the updates.

Way to continue the SVP tradition of straddling the victory cannon!

Great news to hear the testing went well! Sounds like all your design spiral iterations and double checks are paying off.
