Race Start

The Formula Sun Grand Prix started at 8:00 AM this morning. Our second place drag results qualified us for a second place starting position. Borealis II took off without an issue and started churning out laps taking an early lead.

Borealis II was the last car to pull into pit after the race started (that's a good thing!). We drove until our tires were nearly worn out and then pulled in to change drivers and tires. We had a sub 5 minute pit stop and the car was back out on the track.

The day ended with the University of Minnesota just 2 laps behind race leader, Missouri-Rolla. Borealis II completed 139 laps, about 291.9 miles. The evening charging period was fairly cloudy, so not much power was stored, but the morning looks to be quite sunny.
