Car Preparations

Saturday was spent completing car maintenance in preparation for the start of the trial drive tomorrow. We made adjustments to the braking system, attached new test solar modules, evaluated array performance, and installed new telemetry systems including a new GPS data logger provided by ASC officials.

The end of the day came with the car running flawless laps around the parking lot, so everything appears ready to go for Sunday morning.

We arrived in Austin around 8:30 thanks to a delayed start due primarily to my reluctance to get out of bed and some radio issues. The trip was uneventful, though it has quickly become clear how unapt Minnesota natives are at handling 100 deg heat with high humidity.

After being told that grilling was not permitted on hotel property we promptly moved to the bowling alley parking lot on the opposite side of the fence for a quick dinner. We also drove to the UT Austin campus to scout a location for car maintenance tomorrow.

Alright that was a pretty huge spider, although it looks like travis did some photoshop editing. Like they told you you can't grill in the parking lot. What has this world come too? Looks like you are having a blast down there and i am glad to hear you are listening to some good music, it should keep moral up. I also recommend the new twista song, overnight celebrity, and the new country song Redneck woman, both are high up on the charts. I forgot to send the getto blaster with you so hopefully you can aquire one at a thrift store or something because its not enough for you to hear the music you gotta force it on others. Wish i could be there.

"Don't Mess with Texas."
I don't know what type of friendly greeting the people down there are trying to send with that slogan?
Travis, you still look like you haven't been sleeping at all man. Hopefully you guys and gals can live it up and pop open a few bottles of Kristal and lounge in the hot tub at your swanky digs for the night!
Best of luck as you start out on the route!

This one goes out to my wildo...

Notice me, take my hand
Why are we strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me

Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

I make believe that you are here
It's the only way I see clear
What have I done
You seem to move on easy

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby

I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song's my sorry

At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away

And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby
